Jesus instructed believers to serve God by serving others. From the very beginning, the Brethren have found the joy in loving God through service. It is one of the ways we can express our gratitude for the gift of God's grace
Our ministries
The body of Christ at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren serves the community in many ways. Some of our ministries include:
Project WARM Split and deliver fire wood to needy persons
Salvation Army
Work in the Christmas store; provide stockings and angel gifts; clothing and
household donations.
CROP
Community-based fund raising events which raise money for local hunger-fighting agencies as well as international relief and development efforts of Church World Service.
On Earth Peace
Follow Jesus' teachings in the ways of peace.
One Great Hour of Sharing
One Great Hour of Sharing is an offering that makes real the love of Christ for individuals and communities around the world who suffer the effects of
disasters, conflict, or severe economic hardship, and for those who serve them
through gifts of money and time.
Samaritan's Purse For over 35 years, Samaritan's Purse has done their utmost to follow Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. They are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Souper Bowl of Caring
Opportunity to help youth through matched donations on Super Bowl Sunday each year.
Disaster Response
When disaster strikes, Church of the Brethren Disaster Response provides
volunteers to clean up debris and to repair or rebuild homes for disaster
survivors who lack sufficient resources to hire a contractor or other paid
labor.
Church World Service
Founded in 1946, Church World Service is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry
of 36 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the United States.
Working in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries,
CWS works worldwide to meet human needs and foster self-reliance for all whose
way is hard.
