Education, with an emphasis in Religion and Public Education, was conferred on him by Union Theological Seminary and Teachers College, Columbia University in 1986.
He has written curriculum materials for the Church of the Brethren and articles for Brethren Life and Thought. He has also written for several other publications in the areas of Junior High ministries and Christian education.
In addition to work as a pastor, Pastor Jack has taught public school in Indiana and Virginia as a substitute teacher. He also worked in religious research for the United Church of Christ Board for Homeland Ministries, the Archdiocese of New York, and the National Council of Churches of Christ, USA.
Currently, he is the Dean of the Roanoke Center for the Christian Growth Institute, a ministerial training program of the Virlina and Shenandoah Districts of the Church of the Brethren and a volunteer chaplain at Lewis Gale Medical Center.
Pastor Jack is married to Lorna Enriquez Lowe. They have three children. John lives in Austin, Texas and will be married in April 2006. Cory and his wife, Kate, live in Allentown, Pennsylvania. They are the parents of the Lowe’s only grandchild to date, Isabella Rose, who was born in May 2005. Daughter Tina is a junior at Northside High School, sings in the Roanoke College Children’s Choir, and is a member of the Virlina District Senior High Cabinet.
When he has time, Pastor Jack loves to cook and read, especially Civil War related books and articles. He is also a loyal fan of the Salem Avalanche and Baltimore Orioles. |
